Today I begin recording things going on at the farm. It's not a huge farm but large enough for us. There was not much there when we purchased it a couple of years ago. Some prairie grass, some trees on the east side, an overflow pond from the neighbors pond and a beautiful view of a much larger pond to the south. This is what we wanted. To start from scratch. No house, no buildings, no power lines, no water lines, just a piece of Mother Earth to call our own. Since then I have recovered just over an acre of ground that succession was trying to take over. We had a small barn built to store things in so I could leave them there and get them out of my car. Earthwork was started to rough in what will someday become our driveway and the shaping of three swales where I am designing an edible food forest.

Snow is now covering the ground now so I am at home getting other things in line for work that will need to be done this spring.

Stay tuned, there will be more coming as the Sun God blesses us with more daylight and warmth each and every day now.
